Our Business Crime Reduction Partnership

We deliver a range of initiatives aimed at reducing the impact of city centre crime as part of our accredited Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP).

Purple Flag

We’re thrilled to announce that Nottingham has once again been awarded the Purple Flag accreditation, recognising our city as one of the safest, most vibrant, and well-managed nightlife destinations in the UK.

Safe Space Pledge

This initiative, which is delivered in partnership with the Consent Coalition and is funded by the Nottinghamshire Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner through the Home Office Safety of Women at Night fund, sends a clear message to anyone who lives, works, studies or visits Nottingham that the safety of all women and girls is a priority.

Best Bar None Scheme

Best Bar None is a national initiative supported by the Home Office and drinks industry that aims to improve standards in the evening and night-time economy. Our award-winning scheme, which has been running since 2014, now includes over 100 accredited venues – the largest number in the country – and brings major benefits to licensed venues by identifying them as safer and more welcoming places to socialise.

Alert!

Alert! is available to all members and offers a secure online information-sharing platform, enabling businesses across the city centre to report incidents and view the latest intelligence and exclusion notices in one place.

Radio System

Available for all members, this scheme provides a secure link to the Police and city centre CCTV network and is a valuable tool for sharing information on incidents of crime, anti-social behaviour and potential offenders. There are currently over 120 radio users across the city centre.

Defibrillators

The defibrillators are strategically positioned, accessible for public use, offering swift, critical assistance in the event of sudden cardiac arrest and helping to safeguard Nottingham’s residents and visitors alike. The expanded defibrillator network enables timely emergency responses, especially in high-footfall areas.
