Travel And Parking In Nottingham This Christmas

Wouldn't it be great if everyone had a magic sleigh for transporting those extra special gifts this Christmas? Worry not though, we've put together all travel information you will need to make getting in and out of town as easy possible.

On the three Wednesdays in the lead-up to Christmas (5, 12 and 19 December), you can park in the NCP St James Street car park for just £4.00 if you enter the car park between 4pm and 7pm and leave before midnight - perfect for late night shopping. Similarly on the last two Sundays before Christmas (9 and 16 December) you can park in NCP St James Street or NCP Stoney Street car park for just £4 if you enter the car park between 10am and 3pm and leave before midnight. Look out for the gold stars on the map to locate these fantastic offers!

Catch the train from East Midlands Parkway and travel together from £9.30 for 2-3 people, or £12 for 4 people.

Travelling into the city for the Great Nottingham Reindeer Round up? Get a Nottingham City Transport (NCT) Grouprider ticket for a cheap family ride into the city. Up to five people (min 1 adult, max 2 adults). Travel after 9.30am on weekdays or at any time on weekends and Bank Holidays. Tickets can be purchased on the NCTX Bus app with your debit/credit card or on the bus with cash. NCT will also be running late night buses on New Year’s Eve.

Grouprider ticket prices:

  • £5.00 after 09:30 every weekday (including school holidays) and all day weekends and on Bank Holidays
  • £10.00 before 09:30 every weekday (including school holidays)

Avoid the traffic and travel by tram throughout the festive period. With seven park and rides conveniently located on the outskirts of the city and 5,000 free spaces, you can hop on the tram and get dropped off right by Nottingham’s Winter Wonderland, the Theatre Royal or the Lace Market. The popular £5 group ticket (up to two adults and three children) will be available all day Wednesday 21st December 2018 until Friday 4 January 2019 as well as after 4pm weekdays and weekends throughout December. Trams will also be running late on New Year’s Eve, making it the best way to get home from the celebrations!
