Free Creative Workshops for Nottingham’s 11-24 year-olds

Fancy a go at puppet making, rap battling, song writing, acting or bruk-up dance?

Young Creatives Nottingham is proud to present a workshop series across January and February 2023, featuring award-winning practitioners to guide you through fun sessions suitable for beginners. Proudly supported by Arts Council England and Nottingham Arts Club. Expect Cassie Bradley, ROB.GREEN, Jamal Sterrett, Bridie Squires and Nikki Charlesworth in venues across Nottingham, serving up knowledge about their crafts – all completely for FREE for anyone aged 11–24.

Amy Coulson, Sponsorship, Events and Project Manager at Nottingham BID, said: “We are very pleased to be able to support Young Creatives as part of Nottingham Art Club, which introduces creative skills and experiences to young people. These activities are a springboard to discover Nottingham’s cultural offer and foster a lifelong passion for the arts in all their diverse forms. They provide young people with a way to interact with the current generation of makers and performers, and to discover Nottingham’s rich history of creative culture, from street art and dance to the galleries, music and arts venues, which add so much to the vibrancy of the city."

Bridie Squires, Young Creatives Nottingham Project Co-ordinator and Artist Facilitator commented: “It’s been such a pleasure putting this creative programme together as part of an organisation that truly champions young people in this city. I won a Creative Writing Award in 2014, so I know first-hand the opportunities that are made available by YCN. This January, I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned about rap battling and have a great time with everyone who attends. I’ll also be lucky enough to come along to all the other workshops - I’m itching to get stuck into all of it. Puppet making, bruk-up dance, songwriting, acting… Let’s go!.”
