ICC Cricket World Cup In Nottingham

The ICC Cricket World Cup is taking place between 30th May and 14th July 2019. Not only will Nottingham be hosting many of the games but there's also lots to do in the city throughout the tournament.

What is the ICC Cricket World Cup?
(If you're a long time cricket fan then you may want to skip this bit!)

The ICC Cricket World Cup is an elite tournament that takes place every 4 years and features 10 of the worlds best teams selected from a global qualification process that runs over a 5-6 year period. The tournament will be hosted by multiple cities across England and Wales from 30th May to 14th July 2019. Luckily for us Nottingham just so happens to be one of those locations!

Which matches will be hosted by Nottingham?
You can catch all the matches taking place in Nottingham at the Trent Bridge Cricket Ground. Here's a handy list of who's playing and when:

  • West Indies VS Pakistan - 10.30am Friday 31st May
  • England VS Pakistan - 10.30am Monday 3rd June
  • Australia VS West Indies - 10.30am Thursday 6th June
  • India VS New Zealand - 10.30am Thursday 13th June
  • Australia VS Bangladesh - 10.30am Thursday 20th June


ICC Cricket World Cup Fanzone
As well as the matches taking place at Trent Bridge, there's also plenty of opportunity for new and existing fans to enjoy the action right in Nottingham's city centre and it's completely free to take part. The Fanzone will run from Thursday 30th May to Sunday 2nd June and will take place in Old Market Square. The Fanzone will act as a alternative venue where fans will be able to watch the matches for free from 10am - 8pm. Fans will have access to a bar, seating and fun on street activities throughout each day.

Here's what to expect from the Fanzone:

  • A Large outdoor screen to watch the matches
  • A bar, retail and information point
  • Flexible seating and general entertainment
  • A full programme of Street Cricket sessions run by the team from Trent Bridge.
  • Fun games based around batting, bowling, throwing and catching
