NCT move to core routes only

Nottingham City Transport reduce its service to core routes following government advice for the public to stay indoors.

Navy Line

Navy 48X between City, The Meadows, Queens Drive and Clifton will double in frequency to run every 30 minutes during the daytime. An hourly evening service will be introduced

Navy 49X from City at 05:30 has been operating with three buses in recent weeks to allow customers to space out and this will be made permanent. The extra bus will commence from Angel Row at 05:35 through to Boots at Beeston.

Green Line

The following services will be introduced:

  • Green 7: City to Gamston via West Bridgford Central Avenue
    • Hourly, including evenings, operated with double decks
  • Green 8: City to Wilford Hill and Compton Acres via West Bridgford Central Avenue
    • Hourly during the daytime, operated with double decks
  • Green 11: City to Lady Bay via The Meadows
    • Every 45 minutes during the daytime

The frequency of buses between Central Avenue Shops, Trent Bridge, the Railway Station and the City Centre will increase to generally every 15 minutes during the daytime and half-hourly during the evening.

Brown Line

Brown 16 from City to Rise Park via Hucknall Road and City Hospital will be introduced.

Double deck buses will be used, with buses every 30 minutes during the daytime and hourly in the evening.

The frequency of buses between City Hospital, Hucknall Road and the City Centre will increase to approx. every 15 minutes during the daytime and half-hourly during the evening.

Lilac Line

Lilac 25 from City to Arnold via Carlton, Westdale Lane and Mapperley will be introduced.

Buses will operate hourly and serve Arnold between approx. 07:45 and 17:45.

In the evenings, buses will operate hourly between City and Mapperley via Westdale Lane.

The frequency of buses between Carlton Tesco, Carlton Road and the City Centre will increase to approx. every 15 minutes during the daytime, with a regular half-hourly service during the evening.

Pink Line

Pink 30 from City to Wollaton Vale via Ilkeston Road and Bramcote Moor will be introduced.

Double deck buses will operate hourly between approx. 07:00 and 19:00.

The number of buses between Crown Island/Jubilee Campus, Ilkeston Road and the City Centre will increase to 3 per hour.

Orange Line

Orange 36 from City at 06:35 has been operating with an additional bus in recent weeks to allow customers to space out and this will be made permanent. This additional bus will operate as a 36B, terminating at Beeston Interchange.

Red Line

Red 44 from City at 05:32 has been operating with an additional bus in recent weeks to allow customers to space out and this will be made permanent.

Lime Line

The following services will be introduced:

  • Lime 56: City to Arnold via Sherwood and Plains Estate
    • Hourly, including evenings
  • Lime 59: City to Arnold via Arnold
    • Hourly during the daytime

Between Mansfield Road (The Vale), Sherwood and the City Centre, the number of buses operating will double to 4 per hour during the daytime.

Turquoise Line

Turquoise 77 from Strelley at 06:02 has been operating with an additional bus in recent weeks to allow customers to space out and this will be made permanent. The additional bus will start from ASDA at 06:05 to City.

Turquoise 79 will be reinstated between Bulwell and Arnold via Rise Park, Top Valley and Bestwood Park, running every hour during the daytime.

Following the latest announcements from the prime minister urging people to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary, Nottingham City Transport have taken the decision to reduce its normal service to core routes only. The transport company are also requesting that users of the remaining services use exact change only as drivers will no longer be able to exchange any cash by hand. South Notts 1 – Nottingham, Wilford Lane, Clifton Lane, Gotham, East Leake and Loughborough

Green 6 – City, West Bridgford and Edwalton

Green 10 – City, Loughborough Road, Wilford Hill and Ruddington

Brown 17 – City, Hucknall Road, City Hospital and Bulwell

Pathfinder 26 – Nottingham, Gedling, Burton Joyce, Lowdham and Southwell

Lilac 27 – City and Carlton

Pink 28 – City, Ilkeston Road, Beechdale and Bilborough

Orange 35/A – City, Derby Road, QMC and Wollaton Vale

Orange 36 – City, Derby Road, QMC, Beeston and Chilwell

Blue 39 – City, Thorneywood Mount and Carlton Valley

Blue 41 – City and St Ann’s

Red 43 – City, Sneinton Dale and Bakersfield

Red 44 – City, Sneinton Hermitage, Colwick, Netherfield and Gedling

Sky Blue 45 – City, Mapperley and Gedling

Navy 49X – City, Queens Drive and Boots Beeston

Lime 58 – City, Sherwood and Arnold

Yellow 68, 69 – City, Sherwood Rise, Basford, Bulwell and Snape Wood

Turquoise 77 – City, Alfreton Road, Aspley Lane and Strelley

Turquoise 79/B – City, Alfreton Road, Nuthall Road, Broxtowe and Bulwell

Purple 89 – City, Sherwood, City Hospital, Bestwood Park and Rise Park

UPDATE:

As of Sunday 5th April, additional buses have been added to NCT services. Please see the changes below. 

•Earlier buses on the 1 (Clifton-City), 26, 35 and 79

• Green 6 will serve Lings Bar Hospital on a small number of morning journeys (05:30, 06:30, 07:30 from City) and provide two return afternoon journeys (18:22, 19:22)

• Orange 35 will run to and from Bilborough, Strelley and Bulwell on alternate journeys for most of the daytime, with earlier and later buses too.

• Navy 48X has been added to the core network for The Meadows and Clifton, with a bus that arrives in the City for 05:30. Buses will be hourly until approx. 18:30 from City.

• Ring Road service 53 will have three key early morning journeys introduced (including Sundays). This will be the 05:13 and 06:09 from Clifton (starting at The Dip) and the 06:10 from Arnold.

• There are also timetable changes on Orange 36 (early morning before 6am) and Turquoise 77 (all day).
