What do you do when you have spare time, access to a large collection of spirits and a heap of mixology knowledge?
After a good few weeks of being in lockdown, it's safe to say that we've all been doing our best to find things that will fill our time and keep us preoccupied. Whether it's a daily Zoom catch up with friends, testing the limits of culinary skills or going out for a run - it all contributes towards overcoming lockdown boredom.
The friendly staff at The Lace Market Hotel may not be working from home but with the hotel currently only open to key workers, it's probably fair to assume they may have a little more time on their hands than usual. So, the question is... How to fill that time? Apparently you begin by taking stock of the bar, finding out if you have a spirit for each letter in the alphabet and then getting to work creating 26 tasty cocktails. Obviously.
The team have been doing an impressive job so far and luckily for us, they're uploading photos of each drink as well as the ingredients required to make it on their social media channels. They're currently about half-way through the alphabet at the time of writing this blog but we thought we'd pick out a few of our favourites so far.
If you want to see more recipes then a quick trip over to The Lace Market Hotel's Facebook page will show you everything they've created so far. Why not start from the beginning and have a go at making one drink a week at home?
