Founded by a pianist & a singing chef, Peggy's Skylight is the must-visit Jazz club and restaurant in the heart of Hockley. Since its grand opening, Peggy's has quickly become a regular hangout spot for those in search of top notch music and delicious Middle-Eastern inspired cuisine cooked up by the venues talented owner. Throughout lockdown, Peggy's have kept spirits high with regular live stream performances from a variety of catchy acts on their Facebook page and made sure loyal fans of their mouthwatering dishes can enjoy the tasty dishes at home via a convenient delivery/collection service.
Peggy's is one of those rare restaurants where the vegan, vegetarian and meat options are all completely are on par with one another. There's absolutely no comprise on flavour, wether you're ordering tasty vegan Pumpkin & Pear Tagine or rich Greek Lamb with Orzo; just the way it should be!
The music venue and restaurant are big advocates of sourcing all their ingredients locally and ethically. Here's a little section from their website that shows the lengths they go to in order to make that happen:
"We make our own bread using bio-diverse, Lincolnshire grown wheat, milled in north Nottinghamshire by wind power. Our halloumi cheese is produced by an independent family business from Syria, now based in Yorkshire & is the finest we’ve tasted. All our dishes are prepared using fresh, locally sourced seasonal produce wherever possible. We have many vegan & vegetarian choices…it’s good for you, and utterly delicious! Our takeaway packaging is recyclable (except the plastic coated lids on the baked rice dishes)"
Needless to say, the results of using so many fresh local ingredients are outstanding. You're guaranteed a special culinary experience with each and every dish.
