Nottingham Ale Trail

The wait is over and the Nottingham Ale Trail is back!

There is a huge amount of love on both sides of the bar for cask ale. With over 40 breweries in Nottinghamshire and nearly 50 pubs serving cask ale in the city centre, it remains central to Nottingham’s pub scene. This is what inspired us to bring you the Nottingham Ale Trail.

What is the Nottingham Ale Trail?

The Nottingham Ale Trail is a month long celebration of local pubs, breweries and cask ale. This year the trails will take place from Friday 3rd September until Sunday 3rd October. We've created a number of brand new themed trails to explore, with collectable pin badges available for completed trails, as well as a new commemorative T-shirt for the triumphant souls who complete them all. You can take a peek at all 6 of the new trails here. We're also excited to announce that for the first time ever there will be a special canine trail for those of you with a doggo. Find out more about that here.

How does it work?

Taking part is easy! Simply choose one of the trails to follow, buy a half or a pint of cask ale and collect a sticker from the pub at each stop. Once an entire trail is completed, trade in your completed trail card for a limited edition Nottingham Ale Trail pin badge. For those who complete all the trails, a free special edition T-shirt will be waiting for you at the end of your journey. Trail cards can be collected from any participating venues and fold-out maps are available at the Nottingham Tourism Centre. The event is completely free to take part in and we supply everything you need to get started. The only thing we don't supply is the ale (sorry!).

We politely ask that anyone taking part drink responsibly and to remember that you have an entire month to complete the trails; so don't feel like you need complete a full trail all at once and take it at your own pace.

Collecting your prize

Limited edition pin Badges:

Once you've filled up a Trail Card with stamps you can trade it in at The Nottingham Tourism Centre for a limited edition pin badge. There are six badges to collect in total as well as a special badge for those taking part in the Canine Trail this year.

Limited edition T-shirts:

If you complete all the ale trails then as well as the pin badges, you'll also receive a free limited edition Nottingham Ale Trail T-shirt! To claim your free T-shirt, head to The Stage with a completed trail card or map for each of the 6 available ale trails and present them to a member of staff. Please note that T-shirts are only available for collection from The Stage and cannot be collected from The Nottingham Tourism Centre
