The Nottingham Ale Trail is a month long celebration of cask ale and involves our local pubs, breweries and cask ale. Find out more here!
Due to the recent health concerns in the UK, we have taken the decision to postpone the Nottingham Ale Trail. This isn't a decision made lightly and we appreciate your understanding at this time. We will be sure to update this page and our social media pages the moment we have any news about when the event will be rescheduled.
There is a huge amount of love on both sides of the bar for cask ale. With over 40 breweries in Nottinghamshire and nearly 50 pubs serving cask ale in the city centre, it remains central to Nottingham’s pub scene. This is what inspired us to bring you the Nottingham Ale Trail.
The Nottingham Ale Trail is a month long celebration of local pubs, breweries and cask ale. This year the trails will take place from Friday 10th April until Sunday 10th May. We've created 6 new themed trails to explore, with collectable pin badges available for completed trails, as well as a new commemorative T-shirt for the triumphant souls who complete all 6. CLICK HERE to see this year's trails.
Taking part is easy! Simply choose one of the 6 trails to follow, buy a half or a pint of cask ale and collect a sticker from the pub at each stop. Once an entire trail is completed, trade in your completed trail card for a limited edition Nottingham Ale Trail pin badge. For those who complete all 6 trails, a free special edition T-shirt will be waiting for you at the end of your journey. Trail cards and maps can be collected from any participating venues and the Nottingham Tourism Centre (please note the tourism centre is closed on bank holidays). The event is completely free to take part in and we supply everything you need to get started. The only thing we don't supply is the ale (sorry!).
We politely ask that anyone taking part drink responsibly and to remember that you have an entire month to complete the trails; so don't feel like you need complete a full trail at once.
Limited edition pin Badges:
Once you've filled up a Trail Card with stamps you can trade it in at The Nottingham Tourism Centre OR The Malt Cross for a limited edition pin badge. There are six badges to collect in total as well as a special badge for those taking part in the Canine Trail this year.
Limited edition T-shirts:
If you complete all 6 ale trails then as well as the pin badges, you'll also receive a free limited edition Nottingham Ale Trail T-shirt! Please note that these are only available for collection from The Malt Cross.
View each trail on our handy digital map and plan your perfect route before heading into the city.

Introducing the new Nottingham Ale Trails. This year we have named each trail after a well known friend, foe or relationship of Nottingham's favourite outlaw...Robin Hood of course!
