The Trails | Nottingham Ale Trails

Introducing the Nottingham Ale Trails for 2022. All named after a well known friend or foe of Nottingham's favourite outlaw...Robin Hood!

Oops... we've made a mistake! No 27 on Maid Marian Way has been entered incorrectly - please ignore this mark!

Friar Tuck

Named after the boozy, religious and rotund Merry Man. This trail takes in a venue that was once a chapel and several others named after other great historical Nottingham figures.

Little John

Robin’s oldest friend and often portrayed on screen as being the opposite of ‘Little’. This tour starts on St James Street, goes down into Market Square and concludes in the heart of the Lace Market.

King John

This trail is named in honour of the King of England from 1199-1216. It starts at The Island Quarter at one of Nottingham's newest venues and takes you through Sneinton Market and into the city’s Royal Quarter.

Sheriff

Named after the bad guy of the Robin Hood legend. This trail starts out on Pelham Street and allows you to explore Hockley on the Southside of the city, which has cemented its place on The Times' 'cool list'.

Will Scarlet

One of Robin’s most trusted fellows who has been played on screen by Christian Slater, Jamie Dornan and Sammy Davis Jr. If he was around today we think Will would quite like the quirkiness of these historic venues.

Maid Marian

The heroine of the Robin Hood legend and often taken to be Robin’s lover. A perfect trail for the the summer time!

Robin Hood

Named after Nottingham's favourite outlaw, this trail starts on Wollaton Street and heads east towards the Castle.
