Small Business Saturday

This year Small Business Saturday is taking place on Saturday 4 December and it is a great opportunity to show your support to the city’s small businesses, many of whom are independent.

Throughout Nottingham city centre there are clusters of indie shops for you to explore, each with their own unique character. Most of the small businesses in Nottingham are run by just one person or a very small team; therefore you can get a personal one-to-one experience with unique products that you won't find anywhere else.

When shopping in a small business in Nottingham, you are helping to support the city’s local business community and keeping the spirit of independent shopping alive!

Here are four ways you can support local businesses in Nottingham this Christmas:

  1. Buy from small businesses. By supporting small businesses, you're helping to keep the unique spirit of independents alive in Nottingham, even if you just buy a card or gift voucher!

  2. Shop on the high street. No waiting around for packages and no trying to catch the postman; make a list and get all your Christmas shopping done on the high street.

  3. Choose click & collect. If you do buy online, click & collect is a simple way to support the local high street. It shows the national brands that you want their store to stay open in Nottingham.

  4. Choose local restaurants. When you're picking your next spot for dinner or your next takeaway order; choose independent restaurants or pubs.
