When is It's in Nottingham Light Night?

On Friday 23rd February, Nottingham will be illuminated for one night only. Now in its 11th year, Light Night will welcome light installations, spellbinding performances, live music and activities across the city centre for you to enjoy. You can take advantage of a whole host of free cultural events in the city centre after dark, as well as fabulous prizes and exclusive offers.

Light Night activities will commence from 6pm until late across the city and you can view the full line up here.

If you're in the city on Friday evening, simply start exploring, who knows what you'll stumble across! Take a look at what's happening on our interactive city map and below for some inspiration. 

Light Night Activities

There'll be plenty of dazzling light installations and performances to watch across the city centre. If you're a Star Wars super-fan, visit Nottingham Castle from 6pm - 10pm for a Star Wars themed light sabre spectacular, as well as a nature-themed silent disco. Take a look at what's happening using the interactive city map here

For tasty street food and live music, head to Sneinton Market for Light Night on the avenue from 5pm until late. There'll be a fantastic line up of performances throughout the evening, including a light parade, Neon Raptor and local business stalls. 

There'll also be Lights and Sounds on Broadway from 7pm until late, plus light installations St Mary's Church on High Pavement, Nottingham Trent University Newson Building and Handmade Nottingham

Light Night Events

There's lots of fantastic events happening in the city centre on Friday 23rd February, including Pixel Heads presents Light Night at the National Videogame Arcade, 6pm, Brandy Row live band and Light Night at Cafe Sobar, 5pm - 9pm and Light Night, sound and music at Nottingham Contemporary, 5pm - 9pm.

Highlights

If you're out and about in the city on Friday evening, head down to Old Market Square for our super special It's in Nottingham light installation in front of the Council House... Trust us, you won't miss it! 

Whilst you're there, look out for Bird Lanterns and light installations at the Brian Clough statue from 6pm onwards and soar above the city and take in the sights of Light Night by riding StarFlyer.

Light Night Offers

There's a range of fantastic food and drink offers from local businesses to take advantage of, including 50% off all food at Southbank Restaurant and 20% off at Wildwood.

Plus, if you’ve got a More Nottingham card, Robin Hood card, EasyRider card or valid student ID, you can take advantage of over 80 fantastic offers in Nottingham City Centre.

Light Night 10am Treats

In celebration of half term week and Light Night, from Wednesday 14th February, we’ll be bringing you a whole week of prizes every day at 10am over on our Facebook page. Keep your eyes peeled for some fantastic prizes to be won, including restaurant vouchers, ice-skating tickets and group escape room tickets.
