Nottingham's Best Independent Winners 2017

Over the last month we've been encouraging you to vote for your favourite Nottingham independent business, and we can now reveal who has made the top ten! We want to say a huge thanks to everyone who voted - whether that was through our social channels, on our website or by popping into your fave independent and filling in a voting form. The winners will be announced on the 4th July, so here's a run down of your top 10:

Shopping and services category

  • Dukki - These regional gift makers can't help but bring a smile to the faces of Nottingham with their quirky and amusing range of products, ranging from dialect tea towels to all things lion. In the words of Dukki “Come and ‘av a look, and see for yersen, me duck!”
  • Knit Nottingham - This award winning yarn shop is the perfect home for devoted crafters and those who are looking to take their knitting needles for a first spin. 
  • The Cheese Shop - It's brie-lliant to see this family run business in the top 10, especially as they sell a grate range of cheeses right on our doorstep. It doesn't get any feta than that! 
  • Cabella Adding a little glamour to this years top 10 are Cabella, who offer makeup tutorials and are guaranteed to get you ready for a hen party, girls night out and much more. 
  • The Treat Kitchen - From delicious fudge made fresh in store, to classic sweets we all know and love; The Treat Kitchen are the ultimate destination for anyone with a sweet tooth.

Eating, drinking and things to do category

  • Ila's Little Tea Shoppe - Tucked away on Trinity Walk, this cute tea room and cake spot is a gorgeous place to unwind with a cuppa and take time out from your busy day.
  • Ye Olde Salutation Inn - Known as one of the oldest pubs in Nottingham and dating back to around 1240, the Salutation Inn is a timeless classic in our great city centre.
  • The Specialty Coffee Shop - Owned by Lucy and  Michelangelo and producing some of the tastiest coffees in the city, The Specialty Coffee Shop is he perfect place to
  • grab a spot of lunch or take your laptop and watch the world go by.  
  •  Debbie Bryan - Last year's winner is back in our top 10 and is the go to place for handmade crafts and crafternoon sessions. It's the perfect city centre gem for finding that oh-so-special gift.
  • Annie's Burger Shack - Winner of the best city centre experience at the 2017 Evening Post Food and Drink Awards, Annie's Burger Shack are  one of the best known food joints in Nottingham city centre - with every burger on the menu available as vegetarian or vegan.
