26 Spooktacular Halloween Experiences in Nottingham City Centre

Boo! Who's ready for a fiendishly fantastic Halloween in Nottingham city centre? We've got 26 things to do, see and taste for the spookiest time of the year!

1.Halloween Foam Party, National Ice Centre, 28th October 7.30pm - 9.30pm

Calling all vamps, spooks and ghouls... we hope you're not afraid of the dark as it's time to grab your skates and turn up the music at The National Ice Centre's Halloween Foam Party! Tickets are available from only £6.50, so grab yours here

2. Spooky Makeovers at Cabella, 27th and 31st October 

Pop over to Cabella on Bridlesmith Walk and let Dannica and her lovely team of ladies work their terrifying Halloween magic on you! They have limited appointments available for Friday 27th and Tuesday 31st October for £40 per person. Head to their Instagram page @cabellaboutique to see more devilishly delightful looks!

3. Singing and Storytelling at Malt Cross, 27th and 31st October 

Enjoy something a little different this spooky season with Dark Tales and Dire Deeds storytelling on Friday and a pop-up performance in the Cafe Bar by Opera North on Tuesday 31st October. Plus, celebrate 120 years of Malt Cross over the weekend of 27th - 29th! Find out more about all of their events here.

4. Night of the Living Dead Rockstars at Mojo, 28th October 

Join them if you dare from 7pm with your favorite dead rockers! They're expecting your best Janis Joplin, Jimmie Hendrix, Bowie and Prince costumes… the list of fallen legends is endless so make sure resurrect your idol at MOJO this Halloween! Don’t worry, other fancy dress will be allowed in too!

5. Halloween Neon Weekender at Slug & Lettuce, 27th - 29th October 

Get ready for things to go bump in the night with a burst of neon colour! Entry is FREE, so get ready to enjoy great drinks offers, a Halloween tune or three and prizes for the best scary fancy dress. Head to Slug's Facebook page and let them know you're coming!

6. Horror Film Quiz at Six Barrels, 31st October

So you think you know a lot about horror films? well head over to Six Barrels and test out your knowledge from 8pm, plus receive great discounts and other goodies if you dress up. Entry is only £1 per person and tables can be booked now ghouls!

7. The Love Witch Screening, Nottingham Contemporary, 27th October

Something mysterious is happening over at The Contemporary... In honor of Anna Biller feminist masterpiece, The Love Witch, is a happening of cinema, performance and music inspired by 1960’s Los Angeles, psychedelia and the occult. Fancy dress encouraged! Find out more and book here

8. Halloween Fundraiser for Teenage Cancer Trust at Barburrito, 31st October

Have a spooktacular time and raise money for a great cause, with Barburrito's Halloween party! Enter their raffle to win a meal for 2, or play the grab bag and take home smaller prizes. Plus see the staff's best carved pumpkin and best dressed - oh and of course remember to treat yourself to a tasty burrito too.

9. Ghost Train in Old Market Square, 27th - 31st October

Ride the biggest terror train (our new name for ghost trains) this Halloween, as well as treading carefully in a haunted house and seeing how you fare in an electric chair! Halloween hits Old Market Square with a boo! There's a bar to calm those nerves and also pumpkin carving for the little ones.

10. FREE pizza at MOD for Halloween Fancy Dress, 28th - 31st October

It's all treats and no tricks at MOD pizza this Halloween, with a free pizza for each person in spooky fancy dress! Now devil horns and a witches hat won't cut it guys, as it has to be a full on outfit, so get creative and grab a free slice of the action. We've also heard rumours of a face painter coming that weekend too...

11. Magic School & Big Trick or Treat at intu Victoria Centre, 23rd - 29th October

Calling all little witches and wizards! You’re invited to join intu for spooktacular activities this October half term...Don those broomsticks and discover your witch and wizard's names, cast spells and create potions all at intu's Magic School. Plus, join in the Big Trick or Treat on the 28th and 29th October; grab your pumpkin bucket and look out for stickers in shop windows to receive great treats

12. Murder Mystery and Pumpkin Competition at Hart's Hotel, 27th & 29th October

Be their guest at the Beauty and the Beast-ly Murder night on Friday 27th October and enjoy a welcome drink, three course meal and a case to crack for only £59 per person - find out more here. 13. The Revenger's Tragedy at Nottingham Playhouse, 28th October - 12th November

Ghost hunts and fake blood not your thing? Head over to Nottingham Playhouse and indulge in this fast paced black comedy billed as the Tarantino version of Hamlet. Imagine a world without justice, where the rich and powerful do what they like and get away with murder. The Revenger’s Tragedy takes us behind the scenes in this world of glamour, riches and celebrity. 14. Trick or Treat Trail, Wheeler Gate, Friar Lane & Hounds Gate 23rd-27th October

If you're looking for something fun for the kids to do this half-term, or simply fancy bagging yourself a few treats, then this Halloween trail is perfect. Simply pick up a trail form from either Cafe Sobar or The Treat Kitchen and then visit 10 other businesses to fill in your form. Hand it in at any of the partaking venues and you could win some spooky prizes! Don't forget to say 'Trick or Treat' for extra goodies too.

15. Medium Night at Alea Casino, 27th October

Enjoy an evening with one of the UK's most talked about mediums, Ryan Gooding, plus enjoy great table magic from the spellbinding Duncan William. Tickets are priced at £30 per person and include a delicious two course meal. Book your place for this alternative Halloween night here. 

16. Aces Halloween Party at The Bowery, 28th October

We're told that year after year this Halloween party just keeps on getting better, so don your best attire and prepare to scare at Aces Nottingham. Dance with the devil from 10pm until 4am and get your tickets for only £11.25 per person here. 

17. Pumpkin Trail, Nottingham Castle, 23rd October - 5th November

Take your little ones on a not so spooky tour and find the pumpkins hidden in the Nottingham Castle Galleries by the mischievous Wizards; find them all and claim a fab prize! Entry to this cute trail is only £1 plus your admission fee. 

18. Day of the Dead with Charlie Sloth at Pryzm, 27th and 28th October

There's plenty of places to party in Nottingham this Halloween so why not hit the hottest club and toast to the day of the dead! Enjoy great tunes by DJ Charlie Sloth, as well as pop, R'n'B and a little bit of cheese too. Get dressed to impress with your finest Halloween threads and party into the small hours. 19. Family Ghost Tours at The National Justice Museum, 26th and 27th October

Grab your little ghouls and gremlins for a family friendly ghost tour around the National Justice Museum. Enjoy creepy tales and more for only £10.95 per family! Tours run from 5.30pm and last approximately an hour.

20. Strangest Things 80's Halloween Party, Rescue Rooms, 31st October

Whether you're catching up on season one or are waiting in anticipation for season 2, get ready to party way past eleven with the Strangest Things night at Rescue Rooms. They've delved deep into Jonathan Byer's record collection and everyone will be in their 80's finest. Find out more here.

21. A Nightmare on Elm Street Outdoor Cinema at Blend, 27th October

One, two Freddy's coming for you... Watch one of the most iconic horror films ever made at Avenue C just near Blend Coffee Shop in Sneinton Market, but don't fall asleep as you know what happens! Tickets are priced between £10 - £12.50 and are available from Blend. Find out more here.

22. Halloween at Pit & Pendulum, 27th - 31st October

Is there a more fitting place to celebrate Halloween than the ghoulishly gothic Pit & Pendulum? We think not pumpkins, so prepare to scare with live music, fire performers, Halloween cocktails, walkabout characters, makeup artists and much more. 23. Basement of Horror at Bierkeller, 31st October

Go down there if you dare! Are you brave enough to enter Bierkeller's Basement of Horror? With free entry all night we bet you are! Steins are only £4 all night long plus there's loads of great prizes to be won for those in fancy dress. 

24. Halloween Weekender at Baa Bar

Party until 4am and you may possibly see a werewolf or two at Baa Bar's Trick or Treat weekend event. Fall head first into fancy dress and you could bag some brilliant prizes, plus where else has nearly 50 shooters to get the party started? You'd be Baa-rmy to miss this party!

25. Back From The Dead Burger at Annie's Burger Shack 

The fab folk at Annie's have done it again with their Back From The Dead Burger, which features a ghoulishly delicious three layered toasted sandwich, with a burger, sliced deli chicken, lettuce, tomato, extra crispy bacon and mayo - plus a trick or treat surprise! Grab yours for a limited time for only £11.90.

26. Free Halloween Mask Making at Paperchase, 25th and 27th October

Get creative the Halloween with mask making craft workshops on the 23rd and 25th October at 11am to 12pm and 3pm to 4pm. Best of all it's totally free, so why not take the little ones along during half term. Plus, receive 15% off all purchases when you make a mask in store.

Stranger Things Display and Halloween Room at Sue Ryder

Have you spotted the Stranger Things window display in Sue Ryder in Hockley? Take a peek inside the shop and enter their Room 237 (fans of The Shining will appreciate that!) and shop Halloween accessories for £1, outfits for £5 and wedding dresses for only £20. 

Halloween Makeovers by Urban Decay, Bridlesmith Gate and Debenhams
