Fashion fans from across the East Midlands came together for a weekend of style at this year’s Nottingham in Fashion event.

Taking place at the iconic Council House, overlooking the city’s Old Market Square, the two-day event showcased the best fashion that Nottingham has to offer, with over 200 outfits paraded down the catwalk across Friday 24 and Saturday 25 March.

There were regular catwalk shows throughout the weekend, displaying the latest items and new season styles from over 50 of the city’s stores – including high street brands, department stores and one-off independent names.

From clothes and footwear to jewellery and accessories, guests could choose from three differently themed shows, tailor-made to appeal to all fashion lovers.

A broad range of retailers jumped on board to get involved, with models sauntering down the runway in items from brands including John Lewis, New Look, House of Fraser, Jigsaw, French Connection, Debenhams, Radley and Karen Millen.

The first themed show was titled From Campus to Club and was aimed at the many students living in Nottingham. It showcased the key looks and SS/17 trends ideal for a student lifestyle and budget, combining the best of casual styles perfect for walking around campus with glamorous looks for nights out in the city.

The second show, From Desk to Dinner, displayed versatile outfits that could be dressed up or down for a day in the office or an evening sipping cocktails – mixing sophisticated workwear with statement accessories.

Lastly, Style Classics was created for the high end fashion lovers with a focus on investment pieces, incorporating the latest spring trends with classic iconic looks.

Style spread to the Old Market Square during the event too with a large digital pop-up screen streaming the indoor performances as well as a parked-up dedicated Fashion Bus. Shoppers were invited to jump onboard and experience a free mini beauty treatment from brands including Aveda, Bobbi Brown, Too Faced and Clarins.

Nicola Tidy, one of the directors from It’s in Nottingham, said: “This year’s fashion event was a great success and the ballroom in the Council House was the perfect iconic venue. It was brilliant to see guests filling the seats and enjoying a catwalk show displaying the best in Nottingham fashion.

“The event allows us to show off the real mix of retailers that we have in the city centre. There was something for everyone, no matter your taste, budget, style or size.”

Every outfit featured within the shows can be purchased in the shops around the city. Or, if guests didn’t manage to catch a show, all 234 outfits from Nottingham in Fashion can be found on our online gallery.
