What's your connection to Nottingham, and what do you love most about it?

Nottingham has always stood out to me as a city that knows how to have a good time - without forgetting about safety. Being a Purple Flag city isn’t just a fancy title; it means the nightlife is well-managed, welcoming, and safe, which is exactly what you want on a night out. I love that there’s a real effort to keep things running smoothly, from friendly venue staff to decent transport options. Whether you’re exploring its history by day or enjoying the buzz of the city by night, Nottingham makes sure you can do it all with peace of mind!

What's your role at It's in Nottingham, and how did you get into it?

As Head of Operations and Business Crime at It’s in Nottingham, I get to juggle a bit of everything - making sure the city stays safe, supporting local businesses, and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.

How did I get into it? Let’s just say I’ve always been passionate about creating safer, stronger communities, so when the opportunity came up, I grabbed it! Now, whether it’s working with businesses, tackling challenges, or making Nottingham an even better place to visit, I’m right in the middle of the action!

What's your favourite hidden gem in the city that visitors often overlook?

A hidden gem that always surprises people is The Malt Cross. It’s not just a stunning old music hall turned bar - it also has a secret! Beneath the building, there’s a network of sandstone caves that were once used by Victorian revellers. Plus, upstairs, it’s a brilliant spot for a drink in a venue full of character whilst I catch up with our Street Pastors!
