International Youth Day Symposium

Fri 12 August 10:00 - 16:00

International Youth Day Symposium at Nottingham Playhouse 140

For International Youth Day on Friday 12th August 2022, Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature are holding a one-day youth forum and celebration at Nottingham Playhouse, exploring manifestos for change with youth boards and youth-led organisations from across Nottingham.

We will also have an illustrator and performance poets at the event. Their work will be developed, along with the manifestos, into a zine by printing studio Dizzy Ink.

This year’s theme for International Youth Day is Intergenerational Solidarity. On that theme, we will be specifically looking at: Nottingham’s plans to become a UNICEF Child Friendly City, outcomes from the recent LGBTQIA+ UNESCO Futures Literacy Lab, and discussions around our new Central Library opening in Summer 2023.

We hope to see you there on the 12th August!

Warm wishes,
Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature.

This event is supported by Nottingham City Council, Nottingham Playhouse, Nottingham Library Service and English PEN, and is part of our Young Voices Amplified programme supported by Arts Council England.
