Eight Great Steakhouses and Steak Restaurants in Nottingham

23-30 April is Great British Beef Week. To celebrate we’ve decided to highlight some of the best places you can get a beef steak in Nottingham city centre...

Bills

Bills is a chain of British food restaurants founded by Bill Collison in East Sussex in 2001. In the two decades since then, it’s expanded to a whopping 78 branches across the UK. Their steak offering is simple, but delightful with a chargrilled 8oz sirloin steak, accompanied by rosemary fries, currently priced at £20.75. If you want to add a peppercorn, bearnaise or truffle and red wine sauce that's an extra £1.95.

Bistrot Pierre

Another chain restaurant, this time French-themed, with more than a dozen branches across the UK. However, their first restaurant was opened in Nottingham in 1994 and happily it has stood on the same spot ever since. Their steak menu consists of an 8oz rump steak, accompanied by fries, leaves and a sauce for £17.95. They also offer ‘Steak Frites’, a pan-seared Bavette-cut minute steak at £13.95.

Chino Latino

This multi award-winning restaurant on Maid Marian Way specialises in pan-Asian cuisine. Their 180g sirloin steak (priced at £21.50) comes marinated in a soy, mirin and garlic sauce and is served on hot rocks - so you ‘cook’ it yourself - alongside a garnish of sesame seeds, garlic and chives. They also have prime beef short ribs in teriyaki sauce on offer for £21.85.

Son of Steak

As you might expect from the name, this eatery based in Trinity Square, has quite a few different prime cuts on the menu. Choose from a 12oz ribeye (£19.50), 5oz or 10oz fillet medallion (£15.50 or £25.50), 8oz sirloin or rump (£12.50), 8oz black Angus sirloin (£16.50) or 8oz flat iron (£9.75). They also offer various other dishes and sides such as fries or coleslaw for £2.95 or two for £4.

Soulville Steakhouse

Another steakhouse with plenty of beefy options for you – all priced by cut and weight. Fillet steaks are priced at £20.50 (6oz), £25.50 (8oz) and £35.95 (12oz). Rumps are £10.95 (6oz),
£15.95 (8oz), £20.50 (12oz) and £32.95 (24oz). Sirloins are £18.50 (8oz) and £25.95 (12oz) and the 10oz ribeye is £20.95. If you can’t make your mind up there’s also a 24oz mixed grill
at £27.95. All steaks come with a freshly battered onion ring, peppery rocket and a choice of chips, mash, rice or salad.

Tomahawk

Based on Low Pavement, there’s just too many kinds of steaks on offer at Tomahawk to mention them all here. You can choose from the ‘Himlayan Salt Chamber’ menu (priced between £26.95 and £44.95 for 8-12oz rump, ribeye, sirloin and fillet). Or the wagyu steaks menu (priced between £32.95 and £49.95 for 8-10oz rump, ribeye, sirloin and fillet). There’s also a sharing menu featuring five mixed options priced between £74.95 and £139.95 that are perfect for sharing with your carnivorous loved one.

Wildwood

Based on King Street, a couple of minutes walk from the Royal Centre, Wildwood keeps it simpler than others with just one steak on the menu. It’s a 10oz ribeye (priced at £19.90) with peppercorn sauce, watercress and lemon dressing and either fries or mixed salad. They also have a large range of pizza and pasta on the menu too.

World Service

For the uninitiated World Service is a high-end modern British restaurant set in an elegant dining room with marble flooring in the 17th-century Newdigate House on Castle Gate. Their
steak option is a treacle cured fillet of beef (priced at £38) with grelot onion, morels, celeriac and short rib cannelloni and smoked bone marrow aioli. Mmmmmmm…
