What's your connection to Nottingham, and what do you love most about it?

Nottingham is that perfect Goldilocks city – big enough to always have something exciting happening but small enough to feel like home. The city centre is my playground, where everything is within reach, whether it's shopping, food, or events.

Speaking of events, Nottingham knows how to put on a show! The city comes alive during PRIDE, Hockley Hustle, and Light Night – there’s this electric energy in the air, and I absolutely thrive on it. Weekends here? Always buzzing. There's never a dull moment in Nottingham, and that’s what I love most!

What's your role at It's in Nottingham, and how did you get into it?

I’m the Marketing Executive at It’s in Nottingham, and honestly, it feels like a full-circle moment! Picture this: one day, I’m posing in front of those iconic NOTTINGHAM lights; the next, I’m actually part of the amazing team that brings Nottingham Light Night to life. Wild, right?

I studied for my Master’s in Marketing at NTU, and now my office is on the very same campus where I spent my uni days - talk about fate! Before this, I spent 3 and a half years back home in India, working across various roles in tech, product, and client account management. I was in the core operations team, helping scale a company’s growth, but my heart was always set on marketing. Now, I get to do what I love in a city I adore – what a dream!

How do you stay up to date with what's happening in Nottingham?

Instagram, hands down! It’s my go-to for discovering the latest happenings in Nottingham. Businesses here do an amazing job of showcasing events, offers, and all the cool things they have going on. Plus, it makes planning so easy – see a cool event, share it with friends, and boom, plans sorted! Social media is like a little treasure map for all the best things happening in the city.

What's your favourite hidden gem in the city that visitors often overlook?

I’m a hardcore matcha girlie and Vibe With on Hounds Gate is an absolute must-visit! I stumbled upon this gem during a coffee crawl, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Their Matcha Basque Cheesecake? Absolutely life-changing! They’re an independent business with such a cool vibe (pun intended), and every visit feels like a treat.

If you had just one day to experience the best of Nottingham, what would you do?

Every time my friends visit, I make them do this itinerary with me, especially if it’s a Friday or Saturday night - it’s the ultimate Nottingham day-out experience –

☕ Start the day right with a latté and breakfast at BEAR – cosy, delicious, and the best way to fuel up

🛍️ Wander through Hockley and Sneinton – vintage shops, indie stores, and endless cool finds.

🚶‍♀️ Take a relaxing stroll along the canal or through Bridlesmith Gate - I genuinely find a sense of calm, here.

📖 Relax in the grounds of Nottingham Castle with a book – if the weather’s playing nice!

🌮 Dinner at Bar Iberico (tapas heaven), Kushi-Ya or Taquero – because good food is essential.

🍻 End the night with pints in caves – Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem and Lost Property are my go-to spots for that underground charm.

🎸 If there’s a gig at Rock City, we’re going! And, cocktails at my top spots for a night out – Pogo, Alcove, Revolucion de Cuba!

✨We’re staying out till late and heading home the next morning!

One day isn’t enough to experience all of Nottingham’s magic, but this is a pretty solid start!
